What is School Choice?
Simply put, School Choice gives families the ability to choose the type of education that best fits the needs of their students. School Choice is based on the belief that each child’s educational needs are different. As a result, a one-size-fits-all approach to education will not be in the best interest of every student. In order to best meet the needs of students, we need a variety of educational options that all families can access. Scholarships, like Ohio’s EdChoice, Income Based, Cleveland, Autism, and Jon Peterson scholarship programs are necessary to allow equal access to school choice regardless of the family’s income.
What is National School Choice Week?
Every year, school choice is celebrated across the United States during the last week in January. Ohio is no different. Many schools and organizations in the state have planned events, activities, and school fairs to make families aware of the variety of educational options available to them as Ohio residents.
