How Will Districts Spend Federal COVID Relief Fund$

In addition to increases in state funding for districts, COVID relief is also flooding into many public schools.  Federal ESSER funding is based on enrollment and the number of low-income students. In the case of Cleveland and Columbus, total funds from ESSER II and III funding released in 2021 total more than $400 million per district– more than the total amount of state aid for the 2021-22 school year!
